These little porcelain dishes are slip-cast in a half-sphere mould, then dropped on their bottoms whilst still malleable so that they will sit nicely on a flat surface. I use them to hold sea salt or other seasonings, but you could just as easily have them on the dressing table with rings in, or fill them with little things like jelly beans. Or fill them with mayonnaise or ketchup to dip your chips in, or soya sauce to dip your sushi in!
