Peaches are one of the great delights of summer. These ones were heaped up outside one of the grocery shops in Uxbridge Road. The painting features lots of different pinks, reds, yellows, greens and a very pale turquoise, layer upon layer to achieve the end result. Just looking at these gorgeous, warm, summery colours makes me feel cheerful. And it makes me think of Bellinis consumed overlooking a Venice canal, or a snowy pavlova, piled high with glossy whipped cream and crowned with slices of luscious, perfectly ripe fruit.
